Need somewhere to play while this Coronavirus (COVID-19) runs its course?

We hear you...

Spring is a great time for outdoor play and nature adventures!

Exploring the trails at Beech Creek Gardens is a good way to get your family outside, breathe in the fresh air, engage in physical activity, unplug from technology and yet maintain the social distancing that CDC is recommending while still having some fun.

We are now open 7 days a week!
Come explore our hiking trails & engage in creative trail scavenger hunts!

Beech Creek Gardens is in a unique position where many of our attractions are located outdoors which allows for physical distancing. Because of this, until further notice, we have decided to extend our spring hours to seven days a week. Our goal for extending our open days is to give you something fun and positive to do with your families while most indoor activities are closed and everyone in the house is feeling "cooped up." Our grounds offer a unique outdoor venue to explore and just have some fun during this difficult time.

Schedules and procedures are changing quickly these days, so check our website or call before you head out.

Just in case you haven’t heard, don’t forget to wash your hands.

What We're Doing

We are following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and taking precautions to help prevent the spread of illnesses:

  • Closing our indoor facilities.

  • Closing our outdoor facilities that involve contact with other people or objects.

  • Sanitizing our facilities more frequently, especially high-contact areas.

  • Sanitizing our public restrooms daily.

  • Installing hand sanitizer stations for visitors to use during their visit.

  • Staff and volunteers are required to stay home if they are not feeling well and they are able to work from home if necessary.

Additional Steps You Should Take

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.

  • Bring hand sanitzer with you anytime you leave your home & use it often whenever hand-washing is unavailable

  • Consider wearing disposable gloves when traveling outside your home

Areas Currently Available (until further notice)

  • Hiking Trails

  • Scavenger hunt activity

Hand sanitizer stations will be available in each area.

Scavenger Hunts

We’ve designed a series of different, fun & creative scavenger hunts for all the different areas of Beech Creek Gardens!

Download & print these scavenger hunts and grounds map before visiting and you're on your way to having some outdoor fun! Just remember to bring a pencil and maintain social distancing while you search for clues. We'll also have the scavenger hunt sheets available outside our Visitor Center. Check back often as we get all these unique scavenger hunts up and running! Come explore!

Grounds + Hiking Trails Map

* Can also be completed in your backyard! The other scavenger hunts can be modified for your backyard as well.

We've designed some of the scavenger hunts to have alternative clues, so we'll be mixing things up every now and then to keep it fresh & exciting each time you visit.
