SCOUT PROGRAMS

  • Beech Creek is the ideal place to work on Scout badges and service projects.

  • The Butterfly House and Caterpillar Nursery are perfect for learning about insects.  Our volunteer "Flight" attendants are very knowledgeable and love sharing what they know.

  • The Amazing Garden provides insightful, interactive learning experiences about plants and animals.

  • Our many trails offer an extensive opportunity for plant identification, habitat exploring, tracking and yes, we can always use help clearing invasive plant species.

  • Guided learning experiences (using Beech Creek Gardens education staff) need to be scheduled in advance using the scout reservation form Download Here

Self Directed Exploration

Self-Directed Exploration is lead by the scout leaders and the amount of time you spend on your exploration is at your discretion. Special equipment and supporting materials are your responsibility. If you are directing your own program, we ask that you call ahead (330) 829-7050 to let us know you will be visiting as a scout troop.

Cost: Troops of 10 or more enjoy a $3 discount off general admission per scout. Discount applies to both scouts and up to 3 leaders only, not for other guests.

Guided Exploration

Guided Exploration (90 minute session) is lead by one of the education staff at Beech Creek Gardens. This program requires a two-week advanced reservation and planning with the education director. The topic is chosen by the scout leader and Education Director and all supporting equipment and information are provided by Beech Creek Gardens. Contact our education director at (330) 829-7050 or education@beechcreekgardens.org (subject: Guided Scout Visit) to discuss details and scheduling.

Cost: Troops of 10 or more enjoy a $3 discount off general admission per scout. Discount applies to both scouts and up to 3 leaders only, not for other guests. An additional $75 dollar instructor fee will be applied to admission. This includes the 90 minute session, supplies, and the instructors time.
