SCOUT PROGRAMS

  • Beech Creek is the ideal place to work on Scout badges and service projects.

  • The Butterfly House and Caterpillar Nursery are perfect for learning about insects.  Our volunteer "Flight" attendants are very knowledgeable and love sharing what they know.

  • The Amazing Garden provides insightful, interactive learning experiences about plants and animals.

  • Our many trails offer an extensive opportunity for plant identification, habitat exploring, tracking and yes, we can always use help clearing invasive.

  • Guided learning experiences (using BC education staff) need to be

Scout groups have two options:

Guided Exploration or Self-Directed Exploration

Self-Directed Exploration is lead by the scout leaders and the amount of time you spend on your exploration is at your discretion. Special equipment and supporting materials are your responsibility. If you are directing your own program, we ask that you call ahead (330) 829-7050 to let us know you will be visiting as a scout troop and please complete a Group Reservation Form.

Guided Exploration (90 minute session) is lead by one of the education staff at Beech Creek Gardens. This program requires a two-week advanced reservation and planning with the education director. The topic is chosen by the scout leader and Education Director and all supporting equipment and information are provided by Beech Creek Gardens. Contact our education director at (330) 829-7050 or info@beechcreekgardens.org (subject: Guided Scout Visit) to discuss details and scheduling.

Both options include an invitation to extend your stay to enjoy the grounds and many activities are available.

Due to COVID requirements, groups must maintain a ratio of 9 scouts or less to 1 leader and all activities where scouts will not be able to practice physical distancing will require a mask - indoors or out. Frequent hand washing or use of hand sanitizer is also required and sanitizing stations are available throughout the grounds.
