Children ages 7-12 will have endless fun exploring the outdoors and interacting with nature at this weekly day camp! Each week, campers will spend the day learning about a different topic from a master naturalist. Topics could involve anything from butterflies and salamanders to geology and water science. Activities include hikes, crafts, games, and the chance to see wildlife up close.

Space is limited so register today by calling (330) 829-7050.

Camp Registration Protocol

  1. To ensure there is still space available for the camp dates you are considering, call us at (330) 829-7050 before mailing in your mail. Please do not rely solely on mailing your form to reserve a space. By the time we receive your form in the mail, the camp date you requested could be full. If the camp date you prefer has filled, you can choose to be added to the wait list for that specific camp day.

  2. If space is available in the camp date you would like, we will collect some basic information from you, so that we can hold a space for your child. We need to know the child's name, age, which camp dates, parent's name, and parent contact information.

  3. Then go to and click on the link to download the camp registration form. If you are signing up multiple children, you must fill out a separate form for each child.

  4. Complete the form, then either mail it to us (send to 11929 Beech St NE, Alliance, OH 44601), scan/email it to us (send to, or drop off the form in-person at our Visitor Center.

  5. To submit payment, you can send a check in the mail along with your registration form, pay over the phone using a credit card, or pay in-person at our Visitor Center.

  6. Once we receive your form, we will email you a confirmation with a "How to Prepare for Camp" tips list.

2019 Camp Day Topics

  • June 19 (FULL) – Challenge Course: Campers will learn to use a compass and map to find their way around the trails and uncover buried treasure.

  • June 26 (FULL) – Butterflies and Moths: Campers will spend time at the Caterpillar Nursery and Butterfly House and will get to do some "behind-the-scenes" special activities. The kids will also build a butterfly water station to take home.

  • July 3 (FULL) – Games in the woods: Campers will engage in some adventure games in off-trail secret places around Beech Creek! The kids will make huts, play seek and find, and do a blindfold challenge.

  • July 10 (FULL) – Wet, Wild and Wonderful Beech Creek: Campers will search for water critters in the Beech Creek on the absolute favorite day of camp! The kids will explore the length of the Beech Creek from its southernmost access point within our borders to its northernmost access point. Along the way, they'll collect interesting rocks, shells, critters, and more!

  • July 17 (FULL) – Crayfish and Salamanders: Another get wet day, but this one requires a little care and skill. Campers will capture crayfish and salamanders and release them back to their home after the up-close encounter.

  • July 24 (FULL) – Hike-a-thon: Campers will do some serious hiking covering every trail at Beech Creek (and some secret trails). The kids will make "Gorp" (hiker's treat) and learn how to prepare for a very long hike.

  • July 31 – Wildlife Day: Campers will have a special visit from Clover Field Wildlife Center and the ODNR wildlife trunk. A super WILD day!

  • Aug 7 (FULL) – Archery camp: ODNR will help the campers learn archery! Wildlife officers will instruct the kids on the safe use of bows and arrows. Then the campers will get to practice shooting at targets!

  • Aug 14 – Tracks: Campers will collect animal tracks on some secret trails in Beech Creek's woods. The kids will make molds of the tracks and ID the critter visitors.

  • Aug 21 - Last Chance Explorers: Campers will repeat some of the favorite activities from the summer, plus build a bee or bat house to put up at home.
